"We must stop doing politics on the X network," Sheinbaum demands after the Morena party's conflict with the US

MEXICO CITY (apro).- “We have to stop doing politics on the X network,” said President Claudia Sheinbaum, after the disagreement on social media between the United States Undersecretary of State, Christopher Landau, and a Morena activist.
"It's not right to promote violent actions; we've always promoted peace. I also believe we need to stop engaging in politics on the X network," he said at a press conference.
On the social network, Morena councilor in Jalisco, Melissa Cornejo, posted: "They're going to take away visas from those who share... Long live the race and shove my visa up your ass." She attached an image of a person waving the Mexican flag, apparently at an anti-raid protest in Los Angeles, California.
Landau surprisingly responded to the post: "I can't put your visa in there, but I can inform you that I personally ordered it canceled after seeing this vulgar post. And you shouldn't be surprised by what they replied: you don't even have a valid visa to cancel it. How easy it is to speak of your contempt for 'my visa' when you don't have one."

This Friday, the federal leader also issued a critique: "It's fine to express opinions, but we have to engage with the people. Social media is one aspect; the important thing is contact with the people, the work on the ground, always."
He reiterated that "we can never agree with violent actions; our movement has always been peaceful, and we must promote peace (…) Any Mexican man or woman should do so when demonstrating peacefully."
